Visiting Houston
Houston is the fourth-largest city in the United States of America, and the largest city in the state of Texas. The main industries are oil and natural gas, manufacturing, healthcare and aeronautics. Houston is home to the largest medical center in the world and NASA’s Mission Control center.
The Port of Houston is the largest international port in the United States and the 10th largest port in the world. It is an international city with a diverse population. Houston is also known for its award-winning restaurants, shopping, and the Museum District that welcomes more than seven million visitors each year.
Training opportunities will happen across the Houston area, including NASA Space Center so that the participants can enjoy all that the city has to offer.
Sugar Land
Sugar Land is a fast-growing, affluent suburb of Houston and has the largest Asian population in the Houston area. The city’s Town Center is home to a number of cafes and shops and is adjacent to First Colony Mall.
CITYCENTRE
As a part of the program, Chinese principals will receive tours and CITYCENTRE is a pedestrian-friendly, outdoor shopping and dining center that hosts a wide array of shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Chinese principals will receive tours and training as part of the program.
Houston Education
The Rice team has strong relationships with high schools and the leaders across the city. Houston is home to 17 school districts, including the seventh largest district in the nation. Additionally, there are more than 300 private schools in the Houston area and charter schools across the city.
